Apacer Technology and Memoright will participate at the 2012 AUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International) show which will be held in Las Vegas from August 7-9, showcasing their SSD products for military and industrial applications.
Industrial SSDs, military-grade drives with extended temperature ranges and SATA 6Gbps devices will be among the spotlighted products, according to the companies.
Memoright revealed that the company will exhibit a lineup of 2.5- and 1.8-inch SATA-interface SSDs designed specifically for specific markets where extended operating temperatures in ranges from -40 to 85-degrees are needed. Memoright has its expertise in application-specific SSDs and provides a comprehensive range of high-end and ruggedized solutions for specialized applications including aviation, industrial control systems and military.
Apacer disclosed that its new series of industrial SSDs including drives with SATA 6Gbps interfaces and compliant with JEDEC MO-300 mSATA specs will be showcased at the AUVSI show.
Apacer will also present the new generation of its wide-temperature SSDs, which comply with either JEDEC MO-300 or MO-297 requirements, at the upcoming event, as well as modular SSDs with customized 7- and 22-pin connectors, the company said.
Apacer previously remarked that the firm would move to diversify away from its standard memory module business. Sales of SSDs and high-end industrial memory modules increased more than 30% in 2011, which helped the company mitigate the impact of unfavorable conditions in the conventional memory module market, Apacer said.
In other news, prices for consumer SSDs have fallen recently due to the rising competition, according to industry sources. In particular, prices for mainstream 128GB models have dropped significantly to reflect an oversupply in the market. |
