Notebook ODMs saw mixed performances in their November consolidated revenues with Quanta Computer suffering an on-month drop of 13.29% and an on-year drop of 11.16%, while Compal Electronics enjoyed an on-month growth of 5.24% and an on-year growth of 5.97%.
Meanwhile, Wistron achieved an on-month growth of 4.4% in November, but a drop of 12.45% on year, and Inventec had an on-month growth of 3.34% and on-year growth of 15.73%.
In November, Quanta shipped 4.6 million notebooks, while Compal shipped 3.7-3.8 million units, Wistron 2.55 million units and Inventec 1.5 million units.
Due to notebook brands had not been aggressive about placing orders for Windows 8-based notebooks, the PC market is unlikely to see any significant boost in shipments in the fourth quarter.
