Quanta Computer has upward adjusted its forecast tablet shipments for 2012 from 13-14 million units originally to 15 million units mainly due to increased ODM orders for Kindle Fire and Nexus 7, the Chinese-language newspaper Economic Daily News (EDN) has cited company vice chairman CC Leung as indicating.
However, Quanta expects notebook shipments in 2012 to be approximately the same as in 2011, less than its originally predicted growth of 5%, because sales performance for Windows 8 notebooks has been short of original expectations, EDN cited Leung as saying.
Leung will attend the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas during January 8-11 to compete for orders, EDN indicated.
