Wistron is set to increase its investments by US$87 million on non-notebook businesses including after-sales service, small- to medium-size panels and smartphones, aiming to raise its non-notebook business revenue contribution from 36% in 2012 to 50% in 2013.
The investment increases include US$22 million to ICT Service Management Solutions (India) Private Limited for expanding after-sales services; US$25 million to Wistron Mexico for handheld device development; and US$40 million to its touch panel manufacturing subsidiary in Kunshan, China.
The after-sales service business is expected to achieve revenues of NT$19.7 billion (US$678.54 million) in 2012, account for 3% of the company's total revenues and the volume is expected to reach US$1 billion by 2014. |
