Acer is set to host a supply chain conference on January 17, 2013 with its upstream partners including Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics, Wistron and Pegatron Technology, to all participate the event, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
The company's new president of PC global operations Tiffany Huang, who will come aboard on January 1, 2013, is also expected to become a spotlight at the event.
Acer is expected to ship 24 million notebooks in 2012 and the volume will grow to 24-25 million units in 2013, while the company's touchscreen-based notebooks are expected to account for 5-10% of the total notebook shipments by the end of 2012 and the proportion will rise to 20-30% in 2013. |
