IC design house MediaTek has announced consolidated revenues of NT$7.58 billion (US$261 million) for December, down 12.4% on month. Consolidated sales for the fourth quarter of 2012 totaled NT$26.73 billion, slipping about 9% on quarter.

MediaTek said previously that sales for the fourth quarter would be between NT$28.9 billion and NT$30.9 billion. The actual result, however, fell far below the low end of the company's guidance.

MediaTek's consolidated sales for the third quarter enjoyed a 25.7% sequential increase, thanks to rising shipments of its smartphone solutions to China. Lenovo, Huawei and ZTE reportedly are among its clients.

MediaTek reported NT$99.26 billion in consolidated revenues for 2012, representing a 14.3% rise from 2011 levels.
