Taiwan-based chassis maker Casetek Holdings, a subsidiary of Pegatron Technology, is expected to have shipped one million and 1.5 million iPad mini chassis in November and December 2012, according to market watchers.
Currently, Casetek and Taiwan-based chassis maker Catcher Technology each supply 50% of Apple's iPad mini chassis demand, and with the addition of 9.7-inch iPad chassis orders, Casetek is able to produce about 100,000 chassis each day for Apple products, the market watchers noted.
In 2012, Casetek's tablet chassis business contributed about 60% of the company's total revenues, up significantly from 30% in 2011, the market watchers added.
In addition to Apple, Casetek also receives orders from first-tier notebook players such as Asustek Computer, Acer, Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Sony, Dell, Toshiba, Fujitsu and Samsung Electronics, the market watchers pointed out.
