Asustek Computer has set goals of shipping 24 million notebooks and 12 million tablets in 2013, hiking 26.3% and 90.5% respectively from 2012, according to the company.
Asustek expects its shipments of 36 million units of notebook and tablets in total in 2013 to be the second largest next only to Apple among international vendors. Asustek also aims to ship 21.5-22.0 million motherboards in 2013, dropping by 0-2.3% from 2012.
Asustek said it shipped 19 million notebooks, 3.3 million Eee PCs (netbooks) and 6.3 million tablets in 2012, respectively increasing 29.3%, 13.8% and 250% from 2011.
Asustek generated consolidated revenues of NT$412 billion (US$14 billion) in 2012, growing 17.6% from 2011. Asia Pacific including China accounts for 42% of Asustek's consolidated revenues currently, Europe for 33%, North America and other markets for 25%, the company said.
According to market analysts, Asustek is expected to see its 2013 consolidated revenues increase 5-20% from 2012. |
