Seeing its Chromebook products enjoy better-than-expected sales in the US, Acer is currently considering to sell the products in other mature markets outside the US, according to company president Jim Wong.
Wong pointed out that Chromebook sales contributed about 5-10% of the company's total notebook sales in the US in November 2012 and compared to Windows 8's marketing budget and sales, he believes Chromebook's sales are quite successful.
As for Windows 8, Wong pointed out that the operating system cannot be considered a successful product since PC sales did not enjoy any growth after its launch.
As for the company's plan of releasing Windows RT-based product in the second quarter, Wong pointed out that Acer is unlikely to release the product before the back-to-school season.
