Acer chairman JT Wang, in his capacity as president of the Taipei Computer Association which organizes the Taipei Telecom Show 2013, at a speech made at the opening of the show on February 21, indicated that the government should help Taiwan-based makers compete in the global TD-LTE market based on experience and knowledge obtained from the development of WiMAX in Taiwan for many years.
In response, Taiwan's vice president Wu Den-yih in his speech at the opening of the show indicated that the government is making efforts to promote development of 4G mobile communications in Taiwan and the Ministry of Economic Affairs has been planning for feasible integration of WiMAX technology and existing WiMAX infrastructure with TD-LTE. |
