While showcasing three new smartphones at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013, Acer expects its smartphone shipments to reach two million units in 2013, according to company chairman JT Wang.
Acer has said earlier that it will focus on pushing sales of its smartphones to emerging markets, including China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, among other areas, and will aim to reach breakeven for its smartphone business in 2014.
The three new smartphones - the Liquid E1, Z2 and C1 - all offer AcerCloud services, which support a variety of computer devices running on iOS, Windows and Android, the company noted.
