Specialty DRAM (SDRAM) order visibility has reached three months, according Etron Technology chairman Nicky Lu, who is optimistic about the second-quarter outlook for the chip used mainly in consumer electronics and home appliance applications.
Quotes for SDRAM have been raised in the first quarter, as current supply cannot satisfy increased demand, said Lu.
It is still uncertain whether the chip's prices for the second quarter will rise again, due to concerns about customers' overbooking or double ordering.
