Consolidated revenues at MediaTek for the first quarter of 2013 hit the high-end of the fabless IC firm's previously-issued guidance range of NT$21.9-24 billion (US$730-800 million).

MediaTek has announced March consolidated revenues of NT$9.43 billion, up 54.8% on month. The sales figure for March 2013 also shows growth of 14.6% from a year ago.

MediaTek accumulated NT$23.97 billion in consolidated sales from January through March, a 22% increase from the same period of 2012.

MediaTek specializes in handset SoC solutions and is among the top chip suppliers to China's smartphone market.
