Powerchip Technology's planned sale of individual production equipment installed at its P3 12-inch wafer fab has come to a conclusion, with 10 companies looking to make their purchases for a total of about NT$6 billion (US$202 million), the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) quoted Powerchip's creditor banks as saying in a recent report.
Memory module manufacturer Kingston Technology, niche-market memory IC suppliers Etron Technology and Elite Semiconductor Memory Technology (ESMT), and pure-play foundries Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and Semiconductor Manufacturing International (SMIC), are among the buyers, the paper noted.
