Taiwan-based makers will ship 17.15 million handsets on OBM (own brand manufacturing), ODM and JDM (joint design manufacturing) basis during the second quarter of 2013, increasing by 43.4% on quarter but decreasing by 10.6% on year.

　　Of the shipments, 16.82 million units or 98.08% will be smartphones, rising by 47.5% on quarter and by 4.5% on year, while WCDMA, CDMA and GSM will account for 76.2%, 22.4% and 1.4% respectively.

　　Smartphone vendor HTC will take up 47.23% of the shipments, followed by Chi Mei Communication Systems with 18.66%, Arima Communications with 16.33%, Compal communications with 11.66% and Inventec Appliances with 4.08%.
