HTC, a global leader in mobile innovation and design, has today announced the successor to the last Butterfly handset. The HTC Butterfly S is a 5-inch smartphone that combines a powerful processor, long lasting battery, HTC BoomSound and impressive camera.
The 5-inch display supports 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a Qualcomm's most popular processor, the Snapdragon 600. The processor is running at 1.9 GHz, which is faster than the one on the HTC One, and is combined with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. Unlike the HTC One, the Butterfly S comes with microSD expandable slot.
As for imaging, HTC used the same UltraPixel camera that can be found on the company's flagship smartphone. For the front, there is a 2.1-megapixel shooter. For long battery life, the HTC Butterfly S is powered by the high-capacity battery of 3,200 mAh.
The phone is running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5 over the top. It is currently scheduled to go on sale in Taiwan this July, where it will cost approximately $765. There is no word when it will reach other countries.
