Shipments of mobile phones by Taiwan-based handset vendors and ODMs grew over 40% sequentially in the second quarter of 2013, according to Digitimes Research.
Smartphone vendor HTC managed to solve issues related to the supply of some key components for its new flagship model the HTC New One and ramp up its shipments by more than three million units in the second quarter as compared to the prior quarter.
With the exception of Compal Communications, all other ODMs posted sequential shipment growth in the second quarter, thanks to the release of new models by clients, notably Sony Mobile Communications, said Digitimes Research. |
