Powertech Technology (PTI), Taiwan's largest memory backend service provider, has posted consolidated revenues of NT$8.65 billion (US$274 million) for the first quarter of 2010, down only 1% from the company record of NT$8.74 billion posted in the fourth quarter of 2009.
PTI said customer demand is still strong, sustaining its high capacity utilization. The backend house's utilization rates for DRAM and NAND flash memory remain at 90-95%.
Judging from its order visibility that has stretched through June, PTI is expected to see second-quarter revenues increase sequentially, according to market watchers.
Peer Walton Advanced Engineering (WAE) has posted revenues of NT$1.6 billion for the first quarter, flat compared to the prior quarter's NT$1.596 billion. The result was also within the range of the company's guidance.
