TV vendors in China will likely drop pricing for their 50-inch Ultra HD TV units to as low as CNY$5,000 (US$814) during the October 1 holiday period, according to industry sources.
The vendors have already held sales events in China featuring 50-inch Ultra HD TVs priced less than US$1,000 and are likely to drop pricing by roughly another 20% around the October 1 holiday period, the sources said.
The sources added that pricing for 39-inch units are also likely to drop while 65-inch units will only see slight price decreases.
Most of the panels are expected to be provided by Taiwan panel makers while some may come from China makers as well, the sources noted. |
