MediaTek reportedly has landed orders for its MT8135 quad-core solutions from Amazon for its new entry-level Kindle Fire tablets, and shipments of the chipsets will begin in 2014, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report.

　　Given that Amazon currently ranks as the fourth largest tablet vendor in the global market with shipments reaching 1.8-2 million units a quarter, orders from Amazon will help boost MediaTek's tablet chipset shipments in 2014, the paper said.

　　MediaTek dismissed the report but stated that it will try to tap any potential clients, according to the paper.
