Ahead of its September 4th launch, Sammobile claims to have scored specifications sheets of two Galaxy Note III variants, the SM-N900 (HSPA+) and SM-N9005 (LTE). Both devices reportedly feature 5.68-inch AMOLED screens with full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolutions. This changes a lot of things. For starters, we're not exactly sure if pitting it against 5.99-inch contraptions such as the Xperia Z Ultra and HTC T6 is apt.
Moving on, the SM-N900 reportedly features Samsung Exynos Octa 5420 4+4 core SoC, with four Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.80 GHz, and four Cortex-A7 ones at 1.30 GHz; not to mention Mali-T628 graphics. The SoC for SM-N9005 isn't known, but it wouldn't surprise us if Samsung opts for Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, and go all the way with LTE support (LTE-Advanced). The memory amount for the SM-N9005 is listed as 3 GB LPDDR3, the same for SM-N900 isn't known.
Both variants feature 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB internal storage options, which are expandable by micro-SDXC, by up to 64 GB. Both further feature Android 4.3. Given that Galaxy Note III will be the first Android 4.3 implementation with Samsung TouchWiz UI, one can expect other Samsung devices eligible for Android 4.3 OTA updates, to get them on or after September 4th.
Lastly, there's talk about the battery. Sammobile pits it back to 3,200 mAh, the same as that of Galaxy Note II; but another rumor doing rounds, holds it at 3,450 mAh. If indeed the Galaxy Note III is a 5.68-inch device, and not a 5.99-inch device. We tend to agree more with 3,200 mAh. |
