Looks like previous reports were bang on with their information, Finnish company Nokia has indeed been working on a Windows tablet, and the said tablet will be released this October alongside Microsoft's Windows 8.1 RT release. Wait a minute, Windows RT? Well, Nokia's first tablet won't be a fully fledged x86 powered Windows 8 Pro running device, but rather be based on Microsoft's Windows on ARM project offspring, Windows RT.
The leaked specifications highlight a 2.15 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC at the heart of the tablet, a 10.1-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display which will be a first for the Windows RT platform, 32 GB of internal storage, USB 3.0 and micro HDMI ports and will come in various colors, including a matte cyan flavor. The tablet may have an optional keyboard dock and support stylus input as well. Additionally, there will be variants of the tablet for US carriers, and AT&T is rumored to be one of the partners.
The report puts the launch time frame for Nokia's first tablet in mid-October, right after Microsoft's official release of Windows 8.1 RT.
