A new report from the Wall Street Journal says that Apple has given the go ahead to mass contract phone manufacturer Foxconn to begin shipping two different and new models of the iPhone next month. This falls exactly in line with the rumored September 10th Apple event where the Cupertino company will reportedly take the wraps off the next-generation iPhone 5S, along with the stable version of iOS 7.
There's not one new iPhone, but two of them this time round. Going by the latest reports, the long rumored "budget" iPhone 5C might not be such a budget friendly device after all. Word is that Apple will price the iPhone 5C at as high as $400-$500 without a contract, and that the plastic build and cheap looks doesn't mean that it can't take on the place of the iPhone 5.
Post all of the phone related announcements, Apple's new lineup would be something like this: $199 for the 16 GB version of the iPhone 5S with a two-year contract and $650 unlocked, $99 for the iPhone 5C 16 GB with a two-year contract and $400-$500 without one, and finally the iPhone 4S for $0 with a contract and about $300 without. Apple will reportedly drop the iPhone 4 from their lineup as the hardware is simply too old to support future iterations of iOS.
