China-based manufacturer Oppo on Monday launched a 4.7-inch smartphone that has the ability run stock Android.
It's called the R819, and Oppo said it could run stock Android 4.2.1. Users can also install Oppo's Color ROM that will launch soon. It reportedly gives a "completely fresh take on Android that was developed with OPPO fans and is frequently updated".
On the hardware front, the R819 includes a 720p HD display at 312 PPI, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 16GB of on-board storage, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2000mAh battery. It weighs just 110 grams and features a 7.3 mm-thin frame.
Chinese mobile devices hardly ever launch outside of their home market, but the R819 is now available for pre-order on Oppo’s European website. It costs €269 (£229) and has an early September delivery. It's also available for pre-order in the US for $349.
