Canon has unveiled EOS 70D, a midrange DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) camera, for launch in the Taiwan market at a recommended retail price of NT$32,900 (US$1,097) for body only, NT$36,900 for body plus 18-55mm IS STM lens kit, NT$43,900 for body plus 18-135mm IS STM lens kit.

　　EOS 70D features a 20.2-megapixel CMOS image sensor, dual-pixel CMOS AutoFocus, a 3.0-inch 1.04-megapixel Color View II TFT-LCD touch screen, dimensions of 139 (W) by 104.3 (H) by 78.5 (D)mm and a weight (body only) of 675g.

　　While sales volume for non-interchangeable-lens digital cameras in the Taiwan market is expected to drop from 810,000 in 2012 to 670,000 in 2013, DSLR sales will increase from 280,000 to 280,000-300,000, Canon Taiwan indicated, adding Canon expects its share of Taiwan's DSLR market to hike from 48% in 2012 to 60% in 2013.
