MediaTek is expected to raise its target revenue growth for the third quarter of 2013 to 12-18%, up from its original forecast of 5-13%, buoyed by strong sales of its smartphone and tablet chipset solutions, according to industry observers.
Orders for smartphone solutions from China-based handset makers remained strong in August after brisk sales of smartphone chips pushed MediaTek's revenues to the company's second highest in July, the observers pointed out.
Additionally, MediaTek is expected to see order visibility for its tablet chipsets improve in September, said the observers.
