Rumors regarding the next-generation Microsoft Surface tablets have been in the news for a really long time, but the time has come for those rumors to transform into reality. Microsoft has sent out official invites to a Surface Launch Event scheduled for September 23rd at New York City.
While the invite doesn't reveal much, we will undoubtedly see one or even multiple new Surface devices. The ones in the rumor bucket are the Surface Mini, of which we have little or no details. Then there's the Surface Pro 2, successor to the some-what successful Surface Pro Windows 8 x86 tablet. Finally, there's the Surface 2 (renamed from Surface RT 2) that runs on the Windows 8 RT OS, rumored to be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 4 SoC.
All shall be revealed on September 23rd.
