Notebook ODMs Wistron, Compal Electronics and Inventec have announced their revenues for August with all enjoying growth for both on-month and on-year comparisons.
  Wistron announced consolidated revenues of NT$52.82 billion (US$178.25 million) for the month, up 8.65% on month and 14.68% on year. The company shipped two million notebooks, 400,000 tablets, 2.2 million handsets, 250,000 LCD TVs, 1.2 million desktops and 800,000 LCD monitors in August.
  Wistron pointed out that the notebook shipment growth in August was mainly due to the distribution of its new Haswell-based notebook models and its shipments in September will continue rising, helping the company's third-quarter shipments achieve single-digit percentage growth.
  However, Wistron expects its handset shipments to suffer a sequential drop in the third quarter. Wistron shipped 6.3 million handsets in the first quarter and 6.7 million in the second.
  Compal reported consolidated revenues of NT$52.1 billion for August, up 2.43% on month and 0.74% on year with combined consolidated revenues for the first eight months of 2013 reaching NT$437.34 billion, up 0.67% on year.
  Compal shipped 3.2 million notebooks and tablets combined and 250,000 LCD TVs in August. Compal's combined notebook shipments for the first eight months of 2013 were 28.1 million units and 2.15 million for LCD TVs.
  Inventec had consolidated revenues of NT$37.87 billion for August, up 34.74% on year and 2.17% on month. The company's combined consolidated revenues for the first eight months of 2013 also grew 6.02% on year to reach NT$27.89 billion. Inventec shipped two million notebooks in August.
  Inventec has also reportedly entered into Google's server supply chain and will supply server products to the Internet giant with a similar method as Quanta and Wistron.
