China is currently suffering from a labor shortage and the issue has caused many notebook-related players to only be able to deliver 85% of their orders for September. With the approach of the year-end holidays, the labor shortage is expected to create an even more serious gap in October, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
Since the unfulfilled orders from September have all been postponed to October, while clients' new orders for October remained at a similar level as in September, the suppliers are now under great pressure for fulfilling their orders.
The labor shortage is mainly due to China's week-long National Day holidays as many workers have returned to their hometowns, but never came back to work.
In additional news, battery maker Simplo Technology has announced revenues of NT$5.31 billion (US$180.82 million) for September, up 12.99% on month, but down 6.74% on year. The company's revenues for the third quarter reached only NT$14.51 billion, slightly lower than its original prediction.
Dynapack's September revenues were NT$2.05 billion, down 5.93% on year and 2.52% on month, while Celxpert Energy reported consolidated revenues of NT$334 million for the same month, down 16.91% on month and 45.63% on year.
