Lenovo is planning to build on its success with Android smartphones (at least in the Chinese market), by launching energy-efficient Android-driven notebooks. The first of its kind will be the IdeaPad A10, which twists and turns around much like a Yoga 2, but runs ARMdroid (a term for ARM SoC + Android; analogous to "Wintel").
To begin with, the IdeaPad A10 features a 10.1-inch 1366 x 768-pixel touchscreen, which moves along the hinge by 300 degrees, letting you use it both as a notebook, and a folded-back desktop. The bottom half features a common chicklet keyboard and trackpad.
Under the hood is a Rockchip 3188 SoC with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU clocked at 1.60 GHz, 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, up to 32 GB of expandable storage, and a 22.6 Whr battery. Android 4.2.2 "Jelly Bean" is the OS of choice.
Connectivity includes 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, Bluetooth 4.0, three USB 2.0 ports, SDHC (standard) card slot, HDMI display output, supporting up to 1080p display resolution.
