Elpida Memory has announced preliminary consolidated financial results for its fiscal year ended March 31, 2010. The memory chipmaker estimated net income of two billion yen (US$21.5 million) on consolidated revenues of 466 billion yen for the fiscal year, showing a return to profitability from losses of 178.9 billion yen in its fiscal 2008.
Actual results for Elpida's fiscal 2009 will be unveiled on May 12.
Elpida's revenue estimate for its fiscal 2009 represents a 41% growth compared to net sales of 331 billion yen posted a year earlier, mainly thanks to DRAM bit shipment growth of 50% on year, according to the company.
Reductions made by a continued production shift to advanced processes would put all profit/loss categories into the black, it added.
