Despite numerous reports which say that Samsung's Galaxy S4 is not selling as well as the company had expected, and that being the reason why the company is speeding up the development of the Galaxy S5, the current flagship is selling exceptionally well.
Counter Point, a research company, revealed that Samsung sold over 5 million Galaxy S4 phones in August 2013, topping the list of the most sold phones for that month. In fact, the pricey device sold more than Apple's iPhone as well as Nokia's cheap basic phones as well.

It is entirely possible that the scenario is different now. With the introduction of a number of flagship handsets inlcuding the Xperia Z1, LG G2, Moto X and iPhone 5S/5C, Samsung may no longer be leading the charts, and perhaps that didn't go down too well with the Koreans.
