Samsung US announced earlier today that they are bringing the company's 'Mini' phone to the US market. Dubbed as the Galaxy S4 Mini, this device does exactly as the name suggests, shrink the flagship Smartphone into a more pocketable form factor than ever. In the process, the 5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED panel gets replaced by a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) AMOLED display. Also, a far inferior 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 chipset with Adreno 305 powers the S4 Mini (as compared to the Exynos 5 Octa in the flagship). RAM sits at 1.5 GB, whereas internal memory is 16 GB (expandable). Samsung has the multimedia front covered with a "zero shutter lag" 8 megapixel unit. Whereas self-portrait lovers will have to be satisfied with the 1.9 MP front snapper.
The Galaxy S4 Mini will be offered by four major US carriers - AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, starting this November. S View covers for the Galaxy S4 Mini will also go on sale around the same time. For people who don't like contracts, expect the unlocked price of this device to hover below the $400 mark.
