Lenovo is expected to bump up orders by 20% to its supply chains in the fourth quarter of 2013 for entry-level and mid-range smartphones.
The company believes such handsets will be in demand in the China market during the period, where Lenovo currently sells about 80% of its handset products.
Lenovo is expected to seek out China-based low-cost solution suppliers for the new orders, including O-Film tech and Tianma Micro-electronics.
Additionally, Lenovo expects to have flat notebook growth in the fourth quarter and instead is looking for growth in tablet and smartphone products.
