MediaTek has reported consolidated revenues of NT$39.01 billion (US$1.33 billion) for the third quarter of 2013, up 17.2% from the previous quarter and 32.4% from a year earlier.

　　Third-quarter revenue growth was mainly driven by seasonal growth from all business lines, particularly buoyed by strong smartphone sales in China and other emerging markets, MediaTek said.

　　Gross margin stood at 43.9% in the third quarter, up 0.7pp from a quarter earlier. Third-quarter operating income totaled NT$7.87 billion, up 33.6% from the previous quarter. Operating margin for the quarter was 20.2% compared to 17.7% in the previous quarter and 14.4% in a year ago.

　　Net profits reached NT$8.42 billion in the third quarter, increasing 25.3% sequentially and 71.2% on year. The earnings translated into an EPS of NT$6.28 for the quarter compared to NT$5.01 in the prior quarter and NT$3.97 a year earlier.
