Early last month, Toshiba announced five new business laptops along with three Ultrabook-like models. Tecra, the company's line of business notebooks and mobile workstations, got updated with two new models, Tecra Z40 and Tecra Z50. Today, Toshiba announced official availability of the laptops.
  Tecra Z40 is a 14-inch business laptop with HD or HD+ resolution and powered by Intel's Haswell Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processors. Moving on, users can choose up to 16 GB of memory and 500 GB HDD or 512 GB SSD for storage. In terms of connectivity, it features one USB 2.0 and three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and a card reader, along with standard Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth.
  Its bigger brother, the 15.6-inch Tecra Z50 comes with almost the same specifications. Users can choose between Haswell Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processors, up to 16 GB of memory. The only difference is that it can be configured with up to a 1 TB hybrid hard drive or a 512 GB SSD along with DVD-RW drive. Regarding the connectivity, it features the same ports like Tecra Z40, but includes one eSATA/USB combo port.
  Both of the machines are manufactured from magnesium alloy and come with preinstalled Windows 7 Professional with included Windows 8.1 Professional upgrade disc. If you are interested in any of them, they can be purchased via Toshiba's official webpage for $799 MSRP.
