Winbond Electronics, a manufacturer of specialty DRAM (SDRAM), mobile DRAM and NOR flash memory, saw its October sales rise on growth in certain product ASPs and shipments.
Winbond indicated shipments of its SDRAM and mobile DRAM chips have stayed brisk, and the chipmaker is confident that its improved product mix will help it quickly respond to industry changes.
Winbond has enhanced its offerings to extend its market reach beyond traditional PCs. The chipmaker is also looking to diversify its mobile DRAM offerings to mitigate the impact of a shrinking feature phone market.
Winbond reported consolidated revenues of NT$2.81 billion (US$95.7 million) for October 2013, up 6.2% on month and 1.9% on year. Winbond's consolidated revenues include sales generated by its logic IC subsidiary Nuvoton Technology.
Winbond's cumulative 2013 sales through October totaled NT$27.64 billion.
