Large-size panel shipments are expected to see an increase in November 2013 due to recent demand for notebook panels as well as steady demand for monitor and TV panels, according to market observers.
Monitor panel shipments have recently stabilized and TV vendors have been putting in increased TV panel orders in preparation for year-end sales and early 2014.
Most of the notebook panel orders are coming from Asustek Computer, Lenovo and Hewlett-Packard (HP) to meet demand in Europe, while TV panel demand is coming from China as well as major international vendors for year-end demand in North America.
Despite the increase in demand, pricing for 32-inch TV panels is expected to drop US$1 in November while that of IT panels is expected to drop US$0.10-0.30, said market observers.
The observers also said panel demand is expected to increase 5% on month in November but drop slightly on quarter during the fourth quarter of 2013.
