TV retailers anticipate increased sales of large-size TVs as well as Ultra HD TVs in the Taiwan market during 2014.
Retailers such as Tsann Kuen estimate at least 42% of its TVs sold in 2013 will be sized 50-inch and above and that the percentage may rise to 50% in 2014.
Additionally, the retailer's LCD TV shipment proportion of TVs sized 50-inch and above will reportedly reach 60% in November.
Retailers also expect Ultra HD TVs to drop in pricing during 2014, with 55- and 65-inch units being the mainstream sizes.
Market observers expect global Ultra HD TV shipments to reach about 20 million units, with about 10 million from China vendors, four million from Korea vendors and about three million from Japan vendors. |
