Samsung officially rolled out the Galaxy J flagship handset in Taiwan, a powerful 5-inch class touchslab that knows how to look cool, unlike the overly formal Galaxy S4. The handset is tuned for Taiwan's LTE networks, and comes in two colour options.

　　The Galaxy J is an in-between for both the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3. It retains the same basic shape of the former, but with subtle refinements. Among the color options launched are hot-pink + black; and white + black.

　　The Galaxy J features the same 5-inch AMOLED display as the Galaxy S4, which offers full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display resolution, and gloves-friendly touch input. Its imaging setup is borrowed from the Galaxy Note 3. Its primary camera features a 13-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor that supports Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) video recording, and native HDR processing; a 2-megapixel sensor decks up the front.

　　The innards of the Galaxy J are similar to those of the Galaxy Note 3. You get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with a quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.30 GHz; 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage that's expandable with micro-SDXC for up to 64 GB. The same 2,600 mAh battery that also powers the Galaxy S4, is featured here, along with Qi wireless charging support.

　　The Galaxy J supports 4G LTE, and HSPA+ networks. Its software package includes Android 4.3 "Jelly Bean" with the latest TouchWiz user-interface, the full complement of Samsung apps, including KNOX and S-Health.
