Retail channels in the China LCD TV market are facing high inventory levels and the pressure is likely to persist until February 2014, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers.
Retail channels in the China market have begun to clear LCD TV inventories, with a focus on Ultra HD models launched by China-based vendors, as these models are significantly less expensive than those lunched by Japan- and South Korea-based vendors, the sources pointed out.
In the China LCD TV market, supply will be over demand in the first half of 2014, and inexpensive large-size models will sell comparatively well, the sources indicated.
While China- and South Korea-based makers will capitalize on economic cutting sizes at their 8.5G production lines to offer 48- and 49-inch TV panels in 2014, Taiwan-based Innolux is expected to offer 40-inch models to compete with 40-inch panels to be offered by Samsung Display and Sharp, the sources pointed out.
