Advanced Semiconductor Enginering (ASE) has issued a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) denying Chinese-language media reports indicating the company may see customer orders being transferred to other packaging and testing houses due to a possible halt at its K7 as well as other plants accused by the Taiwan government of dumping untreated toxic wastewater.
ASE has not seen customers transferring orders to other suppliers, the company noted, adding that it continues to proactively communicate with major customers to explain the incident and the current situation.
In addition, ASE disclosed that prosecutors and environmental officials have inspected its K1, K7, K9, K10 and K11 factories, which it said is part of the legal process, and details of the investigation are yet to be revealed.
