Mainly due to weak demand for LCD TVs in the China market, retail channels have been clearing inventories and reduced deliveries from vendors. But global LCD TV sales are expected to rebound in March-April 2014 due to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and peak demand in the China market during the early May holidays, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers.
Samsung Display and LG Display will each ship 56 million LCD TV panels in 2014, while Taiwan-based Innolux and AU Optronics will ship 42 million units and 33 million units, respectively, the sources cited WitsView as indicating. |
