One of the fastest evolving feature about Smartphones are their displays. Only a year and a half ago, 720p (1280 x 720) was considered as top-notch. Then, 1080p (1920 x 1080) entered the game and changed everything. In the next three months, as many as three flagship Smartphones with 1440p (2560 x 1440) resolution displays might be announced. But a Chinese phone maker wants to trump them all with their very own flagship. Jack Wong, a company representative, confirmed that the Meizu MX4 will pack a 5.5-inch display sporting an insane resolution of 2560 x 1536. If this turns out to be true, the MX4 will most certainly hold the crown for the Smartphone with the highest resolution display (not necessarily the sharpest, as a smaller display with a 1440p panel might have a higher ppi).
With Meizu's renewed focus on bringing their top-end products to Western markets, particularly the US, the MX4 might actually make it all the way across the world into the arms of carriers (or at least, unlocked) in the states. Here's hoping for a worldwide launch, we want some love too. |
