Powertech Technology (PTI), Walton Advanced Engineering and Thailin Semiconductor have posted sequential revenue growth for April 2010, but Formosa Advanced Technologies (FATC) saw its revenues drop 2.3% on month.
PTI has announced consolidated revenues for April 2010 were NT$3 billion (US$94 million), up 1.7% sequentially and 36.3% on year. The result also scored its highest monthly level for the second time consecutively.
PTI said second-quarter revenues would grow by single digits sequentially, and the company is more upbeat about the third quarter thanks to the ramping of new capacity.
Walton has reported revenues of NT$603 million for April 2010, the highest since December 2007. The results represent growth of 2% on month and 33% on year.
Walton was quoted in previous reports saying DDR3 would account for more than 50% of its total DRAM shipments in the second quarter, as customers are ramping up production for the chip.
Both PTI and Walton reportedly provide backend services for Elpida Memory. Rexchip Electronics and NAND flash maker Toshiba is also among PTI's major clients, whereas Walton supplies its backend services to Nanya Technology and Winbond Electronics in addition to Elpida.
Thailin, whose major DRAM customers include Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC), saw April revenues rise 2.5% sequentially to NT$143 million. Thailin's revenues through the month amounted to NT$534 million, a 96.8% increase from 2009.
Formosa Advanced Technologies (FATC) generated revenues of NT$980 million in April 2010, down 2.3% from March. It is a major backend partner for Nanya and Inotera Memories. |
