At their CES conference, Huawei showed its prowess by announcing some pretty solid numbers. These numbers also happen to make their investors a little happier. The company is continuing to move away from ODM, and now 95% of the phones are being produced in their own factories. Also, Smartphones now account for 87% of Huawei's shipments as compared to 60% last year (the rest is feature phones). Also, the company wants to make more 6-inch class phones than ever before (perhaps as a response to the growing trend of people buying phablets over 5-inch Smartphones).
Huawei has set some really tall goals for 2014. Amongst them is the aim to ship 80 million Smartphones this year. |
