Supply chains are seeing increased smartphone component orders from Acer and Asustek Computer, with both vendors expected to increase their smartphone projects in 2014.
  Both of the companies are looking to bump up their smartphone market share in 2014 and plan on doing so through low-priced units aimed at both mature and emerging economies.
  Industry sources revealed that Acer is drawing up plans that propose the company develop new projects every month in order to have a more diversified product mix. However, there is still uncertainty whether the company will follow through on the plans.
  Supply chains nevertheless are optimistic about receiving increased orders from the two vendors in 2014 and believe their performances will remain steady or see slight growth despite increased competition from China, the sources revealed.
