The world's first Android tablet packing a "true octa-core" processor was announced by Chinese company CoolPad yesterday. CoolPad Halo is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 chipset, which is backed up by 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB expandable storage, 13 MP rear camera with dual-LED flash (someone forgot that this is a tablet), 5 MP front facing module, dual SIM slots (WCDMA + GSM), 4,000 mAh battery and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean OS.
The CoolPad Halo also supports NFC and HDMI out, and is being launched in China as the Coolpad 9976A later this month for 1888 Yuan (about $310). Indian phone maker Spice, who usually rebrands CoolPad products, might launch the CoolPad Halo tablet in India shortly after its Chinese launch.
