Inventec had December consolidated revenues of NT$45.049 billion (US$1.50 billion) increasing 0.99% on month and 23.92% on year, while fellow maker Wistron has reported NT$48.242 billion, down 2.18% and 12.93%, respectively, according to the companies.
Inventec shipped 6.45 million notebooks in the fourth quarter, growing on quarter by 8.4%. The company recorded consolidated revenues of NT$134.633 billion for the fourth quarter, rising 9.9% sequentially and 19.11% on year, and NT$461.095 billion for 2013, increasing on year by 12.21%.
Wistron shipped 1.9 million notebooks, 1.4 million desktops, 300,000 LCD TVs, 180,000 servers and 1.3 million smart hand-held devices in December. The company saw consolidated revenues of NT$143.165 billion for the fourth quarter, shrinking 10.46% on quarter and 15.15% on year, and NT$624.158 billion for 2013 slipping 5.12% on year.
Wistron's factories in Chongqing and Chengdu, in western China, mainly produce notebooks and account for 80% of Wistron's business in China, while its factory in Kunshan, eastern China, accounts for 20% with production focusing on smart hand-held devices. |
