Acer has reported a net operating loss of NT$8.218 billion (US$274 million) for the fourth quarter of 2013 mainly due to unsatisfactory sales performance, a loss of NT$1.3 billion for inventory depreciation, mainly ultrabook and touch-screen notebook components, as well as a lump-sum payment of US$150 million to downsize global personnel by 7%.
  Acer recorded consolidated revenues of NT$86.695 billion, net loss of NT$7.631 billion, and net loss per share of NT$2.80 for the fourth quarter.
  For 2013, Acer posted consolidated revenues of NT$360.191 billion, down 16.2% on year, gross margin of 6.33%, net operating loss of NT$11.372 billion, net loss of NT$20.579 billion, and net loss per share of NT$7.56.
  Acer's board of directors on January 17 decided to reduce top-level executive salaries by 30% beginning January 2014.
